What is proprietary NCC™ Technology?

 

Revolutionary Natural Catalytic Converter (NCC) technology was invented by Dr Christophe Suchy. 

NCC™ Technology inactivates all sizes of pathogens and VOC particles using a natural oxidation process. Compared to other air purification products which use chemicals, or HEPA filters which only capture particles 0.3 microns or greater. 

Photo Catalytic Conversion (PCO) technology was originally developed to control ethylene, a gas that comes from the maturation of plants, during space missions by NASA. The small size of the gas (0.3 micrometers) could not be controlled by any filter except this technology.

Dr Suchy improved the technology through more than 20 years of experience in the field of air and surface sanitisation and developed PCO technology into proprietary NCC™ technology.

He has won many awards for his work including an Innovation of Excellence award from NASA in 2019, for his work on advancing earlier generation PCO technology into his own proprietary and latest generation NCC™ Technology.

Dr Suchy is also a Research and Education Subcommittee Consultant for the ASHRAE SSPC 62.1 Ventilation and Acceptable IAQ.

How does it work?

This innovative technology simply takes ambient air and turns it into H2O2, using a naturally occurring oxidation process. H2O2 is circulated via the air 24/7 to kill a broad spectrum of pathogens and VOC’s, from the air and on surfaces that the H2O2 settles on.

Once H2O2 has completed its job, it breaks back down into water (H2O) and oxygen (O2), leaving no residue. NCC™ Technology never uses any greater than 0.03 parts per million – a universally accepted Work Health and Safety level of exposure is 1.0ppm.

At this level of concentration H2O2 is completely innocuous to humans, but highly effective against pathogens, including antimicrobial resistant pathogens, and those that cause Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI’s).

The naturally safe power of H2O2.

H2O2 has almost the same molecular structure as water (H2O). The only difference is that H2O2 contains an additional atom of oxygen, making its chemical structure H2O2. 

H2O2 is formed in the atmosphere after oxygen combines with sunlight to become ozone. As the ozone interacts with water in the form of clouds, H2O2 is formed.

Naturally occurring in rainwater, it cleanses the landscape and oxygenates the soil, lakes, and seas. With this extra atom of oxygen, H2O2 works as nature’s perfect cleanser through the process of oxidation. H2O2 is also used to safely treat drinking water. 

The Process

  • Ambient air containing water and oxygen is drawn through the proprietary titanium dioxide honeycomb matrix.

  • A proprietary high intensity multi-wavelength light source using a photocatalytic lens, shines against the honeycomb matrix.

  • The water (H2O) and oxygen (O2) are then transformed into gaseous hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

  • The H202 is continuously distributed into the air and onto surfaces to inactivate all pathogens and VOC’s.

  • H202 breaks back down into water (H20) and oxygen (02) when the purification process is complete, leaving no residue.

  • NCC™ Technology has been proven to destroy pathogens like Covid-19 up to 99.99%.
